The Athens Cypria has a quiet location on a small mostly pedestrianized side street off Syntagma Square. This hotel's central location and reasonable prices may explain why it is often full and why it is often slow in responding to reservation requests. The rooms and bathrooms in the old part of the hotel (the former Diomia Hotel) are small, many with boring beige curtains and bedspreads, but, like so many Athenian hotels, the Athens Cypria's strong suit is its location. Rooms 603–607 have good Acropolis views. Rooms in the new building, added in 2000, are more up-to-date, but lack the view. The breakfast buffet is generous.
