While the Georgia Institute of Technology may be the university for which Atlanta is best known, liberal arts university Emory is just as academically prestigious. This hotel in the middle of the Emory campus looks like what you'd expect from a university lodge—rooms are a bit drab in design and have a very business feel to them, but they're perfectly clean and comfortable. The exterior, on the other hand, is where this hotel shines; you can tell the stark, angular façade was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and the sprawling courtyard with firepits is a great place to unwind at the end of the day. The facility is built upon 26 acres of forest preserve so get up early and hit the trails. Or take advantage of the vast fitness complex on the university campus, with its heated indoor pool, 12 tennis courts lit for night play, basketball courts, indoor track, racquetball, and a full complement of Nautilus equipment (all free for guest use). Plus, there's complimentary shuttle service to the campus and hospital, and an airport shuttle on request. Oh, and free wine and warm cookies from 4 to 6pm daily. Who doesn't love that?
