This smoky dive is primarily known for its Metalsome series (Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays), when bar patrons can get up on stage and sing their favorite karaoke tunes backed by a house band. It's like Rock Band come to life and will only put you out $5 (per song). Dark Horse Tavern's crowd skews older (e.g., a lot of has-been rockers and the like), though there are a good number of college kids here hoping to hop up to the mic. The beer selection isn't the greatest—it's more your standard ol' PBR, Miller Lite, Yuengling, Blue Moon, and the like—but then people are here for the rock, heavy metal, and accompanying ambiance.
