The Jones Center is home to Arthouse, also known as the Texas Fine Arts Association, an organization whose purpose is to promote all forms of contemporary art in Texas. The building was originally a movie theater, which was converted into a department store in 1956. In late 2010, the center completed a large expansion and renovation, which more than doubled the exhibition space and added flexibility and functionality. Inside and outside, the new improved Arthouse offers interesting views from various perspectives. The exhibition space is dedicated temporary shows representing a wide variety of visual art forms.
