Formerly one of Austin’s top clubs, in its original Red River location, Emo’s—now in a larger space on East Riverside—has been outpaced by other, newer establishments, but it’s still a fine place to catch a show, with state-of-the-art sound quality. The music tends to be alternative forms of rock, pop, hip-hop, and anything that seems to be different and original. Emo’s attracts a mostly young crowd and many off-duty musicians.
