Located just inside the city walls 2 blocks northwest of Plaza de la Victoria, this hotel can be hard to find. But once you’re settled, it makes a good base for exploring the city. Like most properties in rambling historic buildings it features wonderful public spaces, including a lovely central courtyard and a formal garden with some archaeological remnants. Some of the nicest rooms look out on the garden. They all have traditional furnishings that can sometimes seem more dated than evocative of a historic past.
