Getting There

By Train -- With no railway station in Badenweiler, rail passengers should first go to Freiburg, then switch onto any of the dozen or so daily trains that carry them to the town of Müllheim. From there, it's easiest to take a taxi the 8km (5 miles) east to Badenweiler. (Taxis make special efforts to line up whenever trains arrive.) The one-way charge is 12€ to 16€ ($19-$26) to anywhere in Badenweiler, a distance of 4km (2 1/2 miles). If, by any chance, there are no taxis in line, you can call for one at tel. 07631/2255.

Buses also line up at Müllheim's railway station, charging 3.50€ ($5.60) for the short ride to Badenweiler. Bus no. 111 heads to Badenweiler and beyond, with departures scheduled every 60 to 75 minutes, depending on the time of day.

By Bus -- Unless you're coming into Badenweiler from one of the nearby communities, bus travel is not convenient.

By Car -- From the A5 Autobahn, which runs north to south between Karlsruhe and Basel, exit at the Müllheim/Badenweiler exit, then follow the signs to Badenweiler.
