I've always liked this comfortable Harbor East hotel, with its practical lobby with coffee shop and Wi-Fi–connected seating area. Since a redo in late 2013, with an updated bistro, lounge, workspace with computers, and library, this 14-story inn is even better at meeting the needs of the no-nonsense traveler looking for comfort and cleanliness. The fitness center and pool are satisfactory but those in serious training will appreciate complimentary passes to the nearby Maryland Athletic Club. Decor is bright, modern with three standard room styles: a double with two beds, a single, and a king with pullout sofa. Ten corner suites offer additional space. If you want a pullout sofa or a tub, be sure to ask. About half of the rooms have shower only; a few rooms don't have sofa beds. Visitors often ask for harbor-view rooms, but, alas, there aren't any.
