This is not your typical cookie-cutter chain hotel. Formerly the Tremont Plaza, the new owners kept what worked at the old hotel while adding amenities that improved the 37-story property. These include free breakfast and a complimentary evening reception; and state-of-the-art equipment for the fitness center (which is next to the outdoor pool). A Starbucks replaced the long-established deli that use to be in the lobby (not a change I approve of, but it's popular with guests). Rooms were not changed but everything looks fresh and bright. Studio suites are spacious L-shaped rooms with separate sitting areas, most with pullout sofas, and kitchenettes and sleeping areas with fluffy white duvets. One- and two-bedroom suites give guests even more room to spread out. Guests visiting area hospitals are offered special hotel rates as well as a hospital shuttle. This is a pet-friendly hotel.
