Opened in 2011, the Hansar is one of Bangkok's newer luxury hotels and it has caused quite a stir with its superb, all-suite accommodation. The building itself is an intriguing design, tall but irregular, and the huge rooms have great views from their floor-to-ceiling windows. Rooms feature teak-wood floors, black granite counters, silk wall coverings, Jim Thompson silk fabrics, handwoven carpets, and complimentary minibar. There are five types of suite—studio, edge, urban, vertigo, and loft—which range in size from 600 to 1,350 square feet. As befits a hotel that is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it offers little extras such as daily papers and a bucket of ice delivered to your room each evening. The enormous beds are so comfy you won't want to get up, and there are huge bathtubs in the bathrooms. Facilities such as the swimming pool, spa, and Eve Restaurant are extra reasons for making this your base in Bangkok.
