This riverside retreat is the ultimate “room with a view”: the hotel is right across the river from Wat Arun, and many guests count watching the temple go from the glow of sunset to nighttime spotlights as a highpoint of their stay. That spectacular evening “show” is seen through (most) guestrooms’ dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows (the view from the rooftop bar is pretty sweet, too).  And to keep the focus on those views, rooms are chicly minimalist, with black-and-white color schemes, platform beds, free-standing tubs, and large bathrooms. If jet-lag strikes, wake up early to offer alms to the local monks in saffron robes on the streets just outside.
