Sitting in the shadow of Wat Pho is this casual spin-off of Thonglor’s fancy Bo.Lan (p. ###). The meticulous research and creativity of that restaurant is present and accounted for here in the food; it’s also pleasant place to cool one’s heals after touring the Grand Palace and major temples. The menu elevates down-to-earth fare, like stir-fried morning glory and pad krapao, and surprises with plates that are wholly original, like jasmine rice cured fish or sour green mango in fish sauce. The experience is capped off by the shabby chic setting with its 1960s Thai advertisements and hand-drawn art on the exposed brick walls.
