Under harsh, cafeteria-style lighting, and glowing white-tiled walls, is a shining star. Krua Apsorn is no secret, thanks to years of patronage from the Thai royal family and glowing media reviews, but even with its lines (they move fast) it’s worth the wait. Over the years, I’ve eaten my way through the menu and everything is really delicious, but many come just for the crab omelet which is generously stuffed with jumbo lump crab. Stir-fried crab with yellow chili, green curry with fish balls, and tom yum shrimp are also renowned. The Krua Apsorn empire has five other locations around town and the one on Samsen Road is the original.
