Lompoc Café

The Lompoc Cafe has a well-worn, neighborhood-bar feel to it—waiters and other workers from around Bar Harbor congregate here after-hours. The cafe consists of three sections: the original bar, a tidy beer garden just outside (try your hand at bocce), and a small and open barnlike structure at the garden’s edge to handle the overflow. Most of the beers are local (ask for a sample before ordering a full glass of blueberry ale). The restaurant pivoted a few years back away from a more adventurous dinner menu to pizzas and sandwiches (and added some basic breakfast, as well as books), but those still have some global panache: the bahn mi is great, the bang bang chicken on challah works surprisingly well, and so does the flalfel flatbread pizza.  What ever you order, eat it at an outdoor table, especially during nights when there’s live music on the patio.
