Lying 12km (8 miles) northeast of Osijek, Kopački Rit is a vast expanse of marshland lying at the confluence of the River Drava and the River Danube, including two lakes. This is a popular destination for bird watchers, as the wetlands attract some 285 bird species, including eagles, cormorants, and storks. It is possible to tour the park by boat from March through November. The park also offers one-day fishing permits and bicycles for hire.
