Sofitel Barcelona Skipper

Barcelona’s first hotel from the French Sofitel chain occupies a contemporary six-story building just a block from the beach, within walking distance of both the old city and Port Olímpic. Its spacious rooms are decked out in blues inspired by the Mediterranean and hexagonal tiles inspired by Gaudí. Rooms at the back have balconies overlooking a family-friendly asymmetrical pool and garden. The nightclubby El Cielo rooftop bar has panoramic views of sea and city, and—unlike many of Barcelona’s rooftops—a heated pool that’s big enough to swim in. While the hotel has a distinctly French flavor, its Tendiez restaurant features Mediterranean cuisine by Catalan chef David Andrés.
