This finca is set on a 29-hectare private reserve on the outskirts of town off the Camino Real. The owner, a former chef, breeds hormigas culonas, the big-butted ants that are famously used in the region’s cuisine. Rooms are simple yet cute, with wood floors and whitewashed walls. Countless terraces and patios make for good spots to sit with a book or binoculars (to search for hummingbirds). They also own a small hostel in the center of town with similar prices, which is also recommended.
