Eclectic Cafe
The unusualness of this restaurant begins at the hard-to-find entrance, located down an alleyway. Finding it feels like discovering a secret and romantic hideaway. There is a large brick patio for dining outside and only a few tables inside, so hit this place on a clear night. Chef Michael Ianniello, who has worked at top restaurants on the Cape, in Boston and on the West Coast, calls his cuisine a modern twist on the traditional: this might include bacon-wrapped roulade of duck with pomegranate and Brussels-sprouts leaves, or shrimp scampi accompanied by spinach and basil. Desserts like the chocolate cherry shortcakes are made in-house.
