With most B&B stays, the key element is the personality of the hosts. If they're downers, it won't matter how well-appointed the home is, your stay won't be enjoyable. Happily, Christine and Rod, the owners of the Summer House, are the salt of the earth. Wonderfully effective at making guests feel like they're on vacation, both Rod and Christine are fonts of wisdom about everything Kerikeri, and they'll happily make you reservations at topnotch restaurants and help you plan your days of touring. Christine cooks superb breakfasts, which always feature fruits grown in their magnificent gardens (they include a mature citrus grove). She's also a crack housekeeper; the handsome, extremely comfortable home is neat as a pin.
