Much of the inner city is closed to cars and the city is small enough so that you can see almost everything on foot. If you’re arriving by train, however, you’ll save time by taking bus no. 5 from the train station to the Festspielhaus and beginning a our there; fare is 1.60€ and you can buy tickets from machines at the bus stops. You’ll need to take a bus (no. 22) or a taxi to reach Schloss Eremitage. Tourist-Information is in the center of town at Opernstrasse 22 (tel. 0921/88588; www.tourismus.bayreuth.de), open Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm. From May to October, it is also open Sunday 10am to 2pm.
