Bedugul Botanical Garden (Kebun Raya)
This wonderland is set in 160 hectares (395 acres) of landscaped and beautifully tended gardens. Opened in 1959 and currently home to almost 2,000 species of different plants, some 320 variety of orchids alone, it represents plants from the mountain areas of eastern Indonesia, areas such as Tenggara, Sulawesi, Maluku, and even Papua. The institution offers a number of scientific services and facilities in support of plant research and conservation, including a herbarium, an orchid house, seed bank, library, glass houses, nursery, and plant database.
