Desert Embroidery
A second (separate) embroidery workshop that's also a women's collective concentrates on creating very beautiful new examples of traditional Bedouin cross-stitching art, applied to dramatic shawls, caftans, shoulder bags, pillow covers, dresses, and even modest eyeglass cases and bookmarks. Prices range from NIS 20 ($5/£2.50) and up. Both workshops help support a day-care center, lending library, and outreach education and leadership programs for Bedouin women.
