Here, more than 150 Bedouin women create rugs and weavings from handspun wool (some traditional, some employing new designs and color combinations), as well as traditionally embroidered textiles and clothing in a program designed and run by the women themselves. These women's empowerment projects preserve the crafts of an ancient culture, but also enable many families to enter the world of modern education and opportunities. A Bedouin Peace Tent and hospitality center are planned. Woven goods range from NIS 400 to NIS 4,000 ($100-$1,000/£50-£500); embroidered objects begin at around NIS 40 ($10/£5).
