The Lyric is a highly respected repertory theater (the only one in Northern Ireland), producing original work and hosting a varied program of touring plays all year. Ticket prices vary, but are generally between about £10 and £25. In 2011, the Lyric played a walk-on part in history, when it was the venue for a meeting between the Queen and Martin McGuinness (the former IRA commander, who was Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland from 2002–2017).
