Another lovely traditional pub, the Morning Star has been in business since at least 1810. Originally it was next to a stagecoach terminus, providing sunrise pick-me-ups for overnight passengers—hence the name. The pub is famously hard to find: Pottinger’s Entry is a small, pedestrian-only alleyway off High Street, across from the post office; look for the iron arch over the entrance.
