This is one of the best places in Belfast for top-quality seafood. The dining room has a casual air—this is a seafood bar after all—but the food speaks for itself. Oysters are a specialty, served traditionally with Tabasco and lemon or in more elaborate ways, such as with pickled ginger and soy dressing. Alternatively, you could go for some spicy piri-piri prawns with fresh focaccia bread to start, followed by one of the fresh daily specials like seared scallops with pea risotto. The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial, and the prices are thoroughly reasonable for food this good. The restaurant doesn’t take reservations at lunchtime, but evening booking is essential. A second branch is located on Main Street in Dundrum, just outside Newcastle, County Down (028/4375-1377).
