Belize has fourteen Japanese residents, two of whom are chefs, and one of those chefs runs this restaurant. Seafood can be found anywhere in the country, but sushi made in the traditional Japanese style is rare. Chef Takayuki Yanai serves up standard fare like nigiri and sashimi, but hot Japanese cuisine as well, like ramen noodles and a chicken teriyaki rice burger. Located on the second floor of the Northern Shops, it’s probably not a restaurant you’ll just happen across, so make sure to seek it out when you’re craving Japanese food.
