Planning a trip to Belzec

There's a small visitor information center (tel. 84/665-25-10) at the entrance with a permanent photography exhibition, as well as restrooms and a small bookshop.

Getting There

Bezec is a small town and is not easy to get to without a car. If you're traveling from Lublin, the public transportation options are few and far between. In summer, there are some sporadic bus connections, but these dry up out of season. The best bet is to hire a tour guide from Lublin, or make your way to Zamosc by bus and then connect to an onward bus to Bezec from there.

By Car -- Bezec lies about 100km (62miles) south of Lublin and is an easy 90-minute drive. Once in Bezec, follow the signs to the Bezec Memorial. There is ample paid parking out front for 5 z per car.

By Train -- Currently, there are no direct train connections to Bezec from either Lublin or Zamosc. If you take a train from elsewhere, the camp is about a 5-minute walk from the station.

By Bus -- In summer, a few buses make the run between Lublin's main bus station and Bezec. Check the Lublin bus website (www.pks.lublin.pl) for an updated schedule. The trip takes around 3 hours and costs about 20 z. From Zamosc, several buses daily cover the distance in about 45 minutes and cost 10 z.
