It may seem counter-intuitive to come to Berlin for a fabulous Italian meal, but this charming restaurant is worth the trip. It’s a bit out of the center, in Charlottenburg, but if you make the trek, you won’t be disappointed. This is Italian cuisine of the highest order—what you might find at the finest restaurants in Italy—served in a lovely, contemporary setting. For over 25 years Chef Bruno Pellegrini, who hails from Lake Como, has been putting a modern spin on Italian classics, creating his own distinctive versions of nuova cucina. Traditional family recipes are offered too. Ingredients are absolutely fresh and authentic. The linguine with shaved truffle is divine, but all the pastas here are divine. The menu changes seasonally and always features fish, meat and game—but you can also dine on fabulous vegetarian dishes. If everything is making your mouth water, choose one of the chef’s tasting menus and sample a bit of everything. So dress up and join adventurous diners who like to linger over their food and wine, the Italian way. Service is friendly, helpful and professional.
