In spite of its outdated décor and tired salmon-colored buildings (desperately in need of a paint job), this small resort does have one thing going for it: its splendid location, perched on a gorgeous expanse of Elbow Beach. Many of its rooms look right at it—a pink sand paradise flanked by the turquoise Atlantic—and that’s clearly were you’ll want to keep your gaze, as rooms feature tacky white wicker furniture and gaudy aqua and pink flowered curtains, pillows, and duvets. Still, they’re clean with beds that are just fine. The onsite restaurant (also in need of a facelift) serves international cuisine but you’ll do better taking quick walk down the beach to Mickey’s Bistro, or Sea Breeze. This hotel is a particularly good choice for golfers, since guests can play one round a day complimentary at Belmont Hills Golf Course (cart and clubs not included).
