Almost as close to the Guggenheim as the Hotel Domine, the Miró is the signature hotel decorated by Spanish fashion designer Antonio Miró, who is to Spanish menswear what Calvin Klein is to American. The hotel exterior is a neo-Bauhaus checkerboard of gray steel and tinted glass, and the reserved style keeps the building from competing with the architecture of the Guggenheim. Inside, it’s 21st-century minimalism all the way with black carpets on the floors and so much black marble in the bathroom that you’ll want to turn on all the lights to see. Some rooms are a little tight on size, but suites have plenty of room to stretch out. Exterior rooms with a view of the Guggenheim fetch a premium price.
