Exploring the Area on Horseback

One of the nicest ways to get around is on horseback. Werriberri Trail Rides (tel. 02/4787 9171; www.australianbluehorserides.com.au), at the base of the Blue Mountains, 10km (6 miles) from Blackheath on Megalong Road in the Megalong Valley, offers guided multiday rides through the Megalong Valley and beyond. These are suitable for beginners to advanced riders. Trail rides are $55 per person for an hour, or A$149 for a 4-hour ride.
