★★— Crane’s Beach House, meticulously run and maintained by husband-and-wife Michael and Cheryl Crane, is a Key West-style haven, located just 1 block from the beach and right in the middle of Delray Beach. Reminiscent of a cute apartment complex, Crane’s is family friendly, but gives off a more couples and singles vibe. Studios and one-bedrooms have kitchenettes, while suites have full kitchens. Those rooms are comfy and clean, with plantation shutters and a good dose of coastal minimalism. Villas are more high style and luxe with private balconies or patios, upscale bathroom amenities and spa bathroom with river rock shower. Lush gardens, hammocks, a Tiki hut, and two saline pools leave you with little reason to flee the premises, but when you do—and you will need to for food, which is just steps away in “downtown” Delray—you’ll want to return as quickly as possible.
