Elizabetta’s

An always hoppin’ Italian joint smack on the Ave, Elizabetta’s has delicious pastas, pizzas, and cocktails, served either at a few outdoor tables or inside—which we prefer—in the two-story dining room. The ground floor has a busy bar scene and comfy booths, while upstairs is a more intimate dining room with speakeasyesque bar and terrace seating. We love both. The food here is quality: all pastas, breads, pastries, and gelati are made in house, and specials can’t be beat. Martini Mondays features the shaken or stirred cocktail at half off along with $3.95 meatball sliders all day. Or, try their Aperitivo Hour, daily at the bar from 4pm featuring $10 pizzas (they’re all good but we love the Picante with spicy salami and peppadews) and $2 off all drinks. There’s an excellent selection of salumi and cheeses to go with those drinks. There’s also a very good Saturday and Sunday brunch—try the egg sandwich with burrata cheese. There’s another location at 185 Banyan Blvd. in downtown West Palm Beach (tel. 561/342-6699).
