This Key West-style, historic 1920s bungalow has been transformed into a topnotch boat-to-plate restaurant. It’s not on the beach, but close enough to it that you can smell the salty air. That’s especially if you choose the outdoor seating (which you should). Start your meal with some fresh oysters and the signature honey jalapeno sea salt cornbread. If you have a large appetite, or group, the Spanish-style garlic shrimp is another smart starter. As for mains: the whole Key West snapper with jasmine rice, green beans in a shrimp creole sauce or the seared diver scallops with crab fried rice, sweet ‘n’ sticky cashews and cilantro are two of the best. For those who don’t dig seafood, the country fried pork chop or the grilled steak sandwich with truffle gouda are the way to go. And wouldn’t you know it? The place that looks most like the Keys has the best Key Lime Pie in town.
