In a quiet, residential area slightly out of the center, lies this chic hideaway, just across the street from a chunk of a 2nd-century Gallo-Roman arena, (the Palais Gallien). Back in the 18th century these buildings made up a postal relay; today the golden limestone facade hides a collection of comfortable, modern rooms with polished wood floors, contemporary furniture, and luscious colors on the walls. The “deluxe” rooms are particularly spacious; families can indulge in the “Apolline” suite on the top floor, which has a beautiful view and oodles of exposed beams. There are several plush salons on the ground level for reading, lounging, or participating in a wine tasting. Note: Only three rooms have elevator access.
