This is the only independent lodging in the rapidly evolving Seaport neighborhood; it completed extensive renovations of its guest rooms in 2014. Already comfortable, they’re now downright luxurious, with upscale linens, pillow-top mattresses, and custom Stickley furniture that has neat details like wheels on the desks. Rooms on higher floor of the 18-story building enjoy magnificent views. Tech-oriented and eco-conscious (it has its own rooftop beehives), the hotel is a great choice if you have business in the Seaport—the World Trade Center is across the street—or the Financial District. Also nearby is the Boston Children’s Museum; families can look into weekend packages and plan on spending some time in the pool. The hotel operates a shuttle to downtown destinations and an electric water taxi.
