One of Harvard Square’s original coffeehouse hangouts, Algiers is a longtime favorite for excellent plain and flavored coffees—try the mint—and decent Middle Eastern food. Lingering is encouraged, the service friendly (but sometimes forgetful), and the clientele of wannabe intellectuals and moguls unintentionally hilarious. Even with half of the patrons staring at screens, the eavesdropping here is great.
