Sponsored by Emerson College, ArtsEmerson has swiftly established itself as one of the city’s most exciting presenting and producing organizations. It says this of its mission: “Founded in 2010, the year the US Census confirmed there was no single cultural majority in Boston, we committed to building a cultural institution that reflects the diversity of our city.” Theater, dance, and film are central, with events that include “Citizen Read,” a public dialogue on race and identity in America. Its Emerson Paramount Center, a few doors down from Boston Opera House, has three theaters. The organization also presents work at Emerson’s Cutler Majestic Theatre.
