Cheers (Beacon Hill)
The popular TV show Cheers, which ran from 1982 to 1993, featured this Beacon Hill bar’s exterior in the opening credits. The outside looks the same—and many visitors pose for a photo right here—although the interior is nothing like the show. “This is a tourist trap for sure,” wrote one fan on Yelp, adding: “Lucky for them I love getting trapped. Touristy stuff is a must do for me when traveling.” Legions of other visitors agree. Also check out the “replica” Cheers in Faneuil Hall Marketplace (tel. 617/227-0150; T: Government Center.) which looks a lot more like the set, and also has outdoor seating.
