A neighborhood favorite, known for superb roasted meats and veggies as well as home-style pasta dishes, Artú is a good stop for Freedom Trail walkers. Roast lamb, penne alla puttanesca, and chicken stuffed with ham and cheese are all well-executed. Panini are big in size and flavor—the prosciutto, mozzarella, and tomato is sublime; and chicken parmigiana is tender and filling. Artú isn’t great for quiet conversation, especially during dinner in the noisy main room, but it’s one of the most reliably satisfying restaurants in the North End. In addition to this location, there’s an outpost on Beacon Hill, at 89 Charles St.
