The Daily Catch in the North End seats just 20, but that’s only part of the reason there’s often a line outside. The food really is worth waiting for. This is the place if you love garlic, calamari, or both—but unlike some restaurants that mess up anything trickier than deep-frying, this is a great choice for more complicated dishes: Try the monkfish Marsala. All food is prepared to order, and some dishes arrive still in the frying pan. Note that this location, the original one, is cash only. The Seaport branch is fancier (and takes credit cards) but still has the homey vibe that’s made the Daily Catch popular since 1973.
