It's hard to get any more Boulder than this: How many hotels have dog runs and bouldering rocks on their list of facilities? The colorful place came to be in 2002 when local hotel-management company HVS took its collective know-how and plowed it—along with a cool $1.5 million—into a 40-year-old chain property in their hometown. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained, if fairly typical motel accommodations. There's also a great bar with local microbrews and live blues, and the Outlook strives to be a zero-waste facility.
