Some roadside motels age remarkably well. This is one of them. One of Boulder's first motels (established in 1936), the log-cabin inspired exterior bedecked with bright red trim has the prettiest location of any lodging, at the scenic mouth of Boulder Canyon across from Eben G., Fine Park (which features a network of short hiking trails). It's as far west you can get in Boulder without ascending into the Rockies, and it’s tucked away on a little-trafficked street.
