This huge Gothic mausoleum is France’s most extravagant love token. The ill-fated Margaret of Austria built it after her husband, Philibert the Handsome, died at the age of 24 from catching a cold on a hunting expedition. You can visit the secret passageway designed for the mourning Margaret to access her chapel from her monastery residence without being seen by the public. She organized her own tomb beside her husband.
