Getting There -- Leeds Bradford International Airport (tel. 01132/509696; www.leedsbradfordairport.co.uk) is located about 16km (10 miles) from Bradford, and a number of scheduled flights connect it to London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports and most major regional U.K. airports. A taxi from the airport to town costs about £15, and Bradford is reached by car via the M62 and the M606.

Most rail links go through nearby Leeds, but at least one direct train each day connects London's Kings Cross Station with Bradford (a 3-hr. trip). Train travel from Manchester takes about 1 hour, and 3 hours from Birmingham.

Visitor Information -- Call the Bradford Tourist Information Centre, City Hall, Centenary Square (tel. 01274/433678). The center assists visitors in selecting accommodations and provides public transit timetables and city guides. Hours are Monday 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday 9:30am to 5pm.
