One of the top attractions on the Cape, this museum and nature education center is an ideal place to bring the kids, rain or shine. Extensive trails on this 80-acre property make learning about the natural world as easy as taking a walk. Varied habitats include a salt marsh, a stretch of Bay beach between Quivett and Paine’s creeks, and Wing’s Island. The museum’s collection, which covers two floors, includes exhibits about whales and birds and live marine exhibits. In aquariums are fish, eels, turtles, shellfish and mollusks. Other topics include archaeology, honeybees, sharks, and erosion. There are educational programs for adults and children as well as nature tours on- and off-site.
