The first Australian hotel to be part of Design Hotels, the Limes considers itself “backstreet boutique.” There are no frills or frippery, but that doesn’t mean it’s not stylish, interesting, and functional, designed with an eye to what travelers want. Three rooms on the ground floor have courtyards with hammocks and a table and chairs; all are practical in design, with a kitchen area that doubles as a work station. The hotel bar is also home to a popular 30-seat rooftop cinema (and an area for smokers on the mezzanine), and a guest swipe card for lift access ensures security.
