More former wards of the Sint-Janshospitaal (p. ###) have been requisitioned for this unsung modern-art museum situated around a tranquil central garden. On view are more than 300 works by Picasso created between 1930 and 1970; his line drawing “Colombe Bleue” from 1961 charms in its simplicity, while the subject matter of his emotive and dynamic bullfighting prints, executed for Federico García Lorca, may not appeal, there is no denying their beauty and elegance. Many rooms are given over to wide range of temporary exhibitions, which have included everything from Egyptian mummies to Andy Warhol’s colorful Pop Art creations.
