In spite of the unfortunate name, this is simply the best Thai in Brussels, run by young, enthusiastic wait staff with a vibe so casual it’s virtually a cafe. The dining area has one bare brick wall adorned with a giant face of Buddha, who solemnly overlooks proceedings as the waiters scoot daintily around the cramped tables. Go beyond the usual green shrimp curry and try the fish cooked in herbs and wrapped in banana leaves, or chicken sautéed with basil—all delicious and not too heavy handed with the chili. Fanny Thai gets so busy you might have to wait for a table but there are plenty of drinking dens scattered along the street in this trendy part of town near the Bourse.
